What is Axtant?

Axtant uses AI to mark students' handwritten worksheets against your marking guide and sends private feedback. Your tutors decide only the answers it holds. It is handwritten marking software for tutoring agencies.

Who is Axtant for?

Tutoring agencies that mark handwritten worksheets. The agency workspace is the tenant. Owners control billing and owner-level settings, admins may manage tutors and operational records, and tutors see only assigned subjects and cohorts. Students do not receive product accounts. The agency is responsible for the roster details and collection authority it supplies.

Who is Axtant not for?

Axtant is sold to tutoring agencies, not directly to children, students, or parents. It is not a student homework app, not a bubble-sheet scanner, and not a general chatbot. It must not be used for surveillance, biometric identification, or as the sole basis for high-stakes admission or employment decisions.

How does Axtant mark handwritten work?

Upload the worksheet and guide. Axtant maps every question part to its criteria and available marks, checks each submitted page, and keeps the submission with the right student. Axtant marks work against the questions, guides, examples, and accepted refinements supplied by the agency.

Does a tutor review every mark?

No. Axtant marks each written answer several times independently and releases feedback as soon as a paper is marked. An answer is held for an authorised tutor when the markings disagree, the writing is hard to read, a calculation needs checking, or the answer's location is unclear; the rest of the paper is released and the held answer follows once the tutor decides. Tutors can also spot-check released marks. The agency remains responsible for student communication and consequential academic decisions. Axtant does not guarantee that every output is complete or correct.

What is a written mark?

One written mark means one mark available on a successfully marked written question part. A billable event exists only after a valid written mark record succeeds. Failed, blank, duplicate, unmapped, or cancelled work is not billable. A retry or tutor override does not create another usage event. Multiple-choice marking is free.

How much does Axtant cost?

There is no free trial. Stripe presents A$150 per month with additional written marks at A$0.15 each to customers located in Australia, and US$100 per month with additional written marks at US$0.10 each elsewhere. The currency shown and accepted at Stripe Checkout becomes the subscription currency. The first 1,000 successfully marked written marks available in each billing period are included. A written mark is one mark available on a written question, so a 20-mark essay uses 20 and multiple choice uses none; 1,000 covers about 12 exams with 80 written marks each. Overage is billed in arrears. Included usage does not roll over. Tutor seats are unlimited. Axtant is not registered for Australian GST at launch, so invoices do not include a GST line.

What is the 30-day guarantee?

The initial-payment guarantee must be claimed within 30 calendar days after the initial payment. The refund equals the initial monthly amount charged in the subscription currency: A$150 or US$100. The guarantee is available once per legal agency. The refund covers the initial regional-plan payment only. Written-mark overage remains payable. Approval cancels the active subscription and write access immediately. The workspace then has a 14-day read-only export window, after which automated deletion of customer operational data begins.

Does Axtant train on student work?

Axtant does not use customer worksheets, guides, exemplars, student submissions, OCR, marks, feedback, tutor overrides, or calibration records to train or fine-tune a shared model. Axtant does not permit a model provider to use that content for its own training.

How is this different from photographing work into a general chatbot?

A general chatbot does not keep each page with the right student, apply the agency's guide and mark values, complete routine marks automatically, hold uncertain answers for a tutor, or release private feedback through the agency. Axtant is built for that marking run.

Where is data hosted?

Core hosting runs in Singapore. Other providers may process data in Australia, the United States, the European Union, or another region stated in their service configuration. Axtant uses Supabase, Render, Mathpix, OpenAI, Stripe, Mailgun, Sentry, and Cloudflare for the functions in the Subprocessor List. Customer worksheets, student work, marks, and feedback stay inside the agency's authorised workspace.

How do I start?

Create an agency account at https://axtant.com/signup. There is no free trial. Paid signup starts the regional monthly plan shown at Stripe Checkout, including the first 1,000 written marks.
