Security Overview
How Axtant protects agency work, student submissions, accounts, and retained records.
Effective 31 August 2026
Agency isolation
Each agency has a private workspace. Customer questions, student work, marks, feedback, and calibration records are kept within that agency boundary and are not shared with another customer.
Private storage and access
Worksheets and student submissions are stored privately. Access is limited to authorised agency members and the work assigned to them. Student upload and feedback links expose only the information needed for that submission or released result.
Owners control billing and agency administration. Admins and tutors receive narrower access according to their role and assignments. Access can be removed when a person no longer needs it.
Encryption
Axtant encrypts data in transit and uses encryption at rest for stored customer data. Sensitive credentials are restricted to the systems and people that need them to operate the service.
No-training promise
Axtant does not use customer worksheets, guides, student submissions, OCR, marks, feedback, tutor overrides, or calibration records to train or fine-tune a shared model. Axtant does not permit its model providers to use that content for their own training.
Retention and deletion
Customer data is retained only for the workspace, review, export, support, billing, security, and legal purposes described in the Data Retention and Deletion Policy. Verified workspace deletion requests remove customer operational data on the published schedule, while limited billing, fraud-prevention, and legally required records may be retained.
Subprocessors
Axtant uses specialised service providers to deliver authentication, storage, hosting, document recognition, model processing, billing, transactional email, privacy-scrubbed error monitoring, and inbound support-email routing. Axtant limits each provider to the data needed for its function and publishes the current providers and purposes in the Subprocessor List.
Questions and reports
Axtant does not claim a security certification or immunity from incidents. Security questions or responsible reports may be sent to security@axtant.com. Do not include live student work, passwords, or secret keys in an initial message.
